The Veil of Raindrops

The rain kept pouring without any stop,
You said, “Close the windows”, my heart did hop,
The drops were disturbing my slumber so deep,
I slept, you thought, with the windows shut to keep.

The next morning you noticed my tired eyes,
With wrinkles and shadows of a sleep deprived,
Perhaps you remembered, maybe you did,
But did you know the truth that was hid?

The windows were open, I kept them ajar,
But veiled myself in the rain that poured afar,
I stood there for hours, getting drenched to the core,
The veil of raindrops hid my tears that poured more.
