What is Agile?
Agile is a term that is commonly defined as the ability to move quickly and easily, or to be nimble. However, the Agile Manifesto, created in 2001, defines Agile as a thought process that embodies adaptiveness and response to address changing business needs and environments.
In essence, Agile is a philosophy, rather than a specific method or framework. It is defined by a set of basic values and principles, as laid out in the Agile Manifesto. Any method or framework that adheres to these values and principles can be considered an Agile Method or Agile Framework. As such, Agile can be seen as an umbrella philosophy that encompasses a variety of methods and frameworks.
