The fragrance of Monsoon and a Dream

The fragrance of earth after the rain,
I love to breathe it again and again,
When the first gust of rain blows by,
I see the old banyan swaying nigh,
It reminds me of our childhood days,

Do you remember what you used to say?
Come, sit with me for a while,
See that swing under the banyan’s smile,
Do you see how I brush your hair away?
See how gently I make you sway,
I save you from the rain,

Don’t you remember again?
How could you?
You are just a dream,
A beautiful dream, or so it seems,
You are here, but just for a while,
And then, like the rain, you will exile.
